Backtracking To Christmas Day

Everything about the magic show at the Expo was great except that I had forgotten to bring my camera. Nevertheless, I took 2 videos of it with my camera phone (bear with me the poor quality :[) and I decided to upload a shorter footage of the “10 minute” preaching session in the end.

Click here to watch this video – (format: 3GP; duration: 43secs)

I went out with a couple of good friends from my flying club on Christmas. I have never seen Orchard more crowded than it is that fine day. People are actually hired to do road marshalling along the stretch from Ngee Ann City to Borders Bookstore. Of course, there are always those stubborn aunties who defiantly cut my queue just so they can feel a sense of accomplishment.

Here’s a lovely display of one of the parade props in front of Paragon.

Of course it was already evening by the time everyone got there and we had dinner at Fish & Co. With most of our orders looking like the picture below, our bill arrived an outstanding $170+.

Still, dinner at Fish & Co taste great as usual, minus that hefty bill that is. We then spend the night catching up with one another, which unknowingly evolved into one of those NS crapping sessions (thanks to the uneven ratio of 2 girls vs 5 guys). Still, we managed to survive till 2 the next morning.

2am at Orchard. And we actually saw the cleaning people mowing the roads full of confetti.

What a way to spend the festive season. It’s just saddening that there’s only twelve days of Christmas. Happy Christmas people! Time to concentrate on the coming 2006!

Jesus Loves Magic?

I live for cable tv.

What a rainy day. It kinda sucked because I was actually thinking of hitting the streets for some last minute shopping. So instead of feeling all energized and ready to go, I stayed home most of the day watching drag tv. Though some programs were really good, especially “8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter(though I prefer the John Ritter version :p, and the show didn’t start till 8:30pm).

Anyway my Mom got the family some tickets to watch some magic show again. I swear this is like the fifth time (and second time for my boyfriend :P) that we are going to watch this father and daughter from Shanghai put up some out of this world magic tricks. Don’t get me wrong, much of the acts were actually pretty amazing. It’s just that, towards the end of the show and before we were allowed to leave the huge freezing auditorium, its “marketing time” by the duo, aka become-a-Christian-now-or-regret-it-because-Jesus-is-not-going-to-love-you-and-you-are-probably-not-going-to-heaven.

Yes. Massive preaching sessions that my Dad and I have become real good at immunizing ourselves. I wonder, does Jesus believe in magic?

Nonetheless, thanks to my Mom’s church going friend for the tickets! We have yet to outgrow our love for anything magical, even if they may be just plain stupid optical illusions. I might even sneak in a camera this time. I don’t remember them like, conducting checks in case you bring a camcorder or anything. Maybe it's because they don’t really bother since it’s a free show for all you church go-ers.

So yes, I am bringing in a camera and then posting up some pictures tomorrow, that is if I haven’t yet drown from the festive mood after that, or that my reliable O’ camera is able to produce good enough shots, you might get to see what I’m seeing tomorrow.

What We Got For Christmas

Yep, new month of December, new look for the Elf.

So guess what Mom bought us for Christmas this year? An awesome cool new fools table (though I still like to refer to it as a soccer table but anyways :p) from Toys R’ Us! I never would have thought of buying something from there since I turned 13 I think. Her choice of gift is kinda my inspiration really. I told her the present would boost family ties, like board games when you play with your family, and she bought it without second thoughts. So my brother and I (well, more of my brother than I) lugged the 4 foot wide colorful cardboard box all the way home.

Here’s how it looks, pretty fantastic isn’t it? We absolutely love it and we had a rolling good time with it (:D).

our Christmas present

It just makes me wonder what everyone got for Christmas this year? Anyways, I’m way late to do my Christmas shopping! I love Christmas sales! And one whole great month of Thanks giving? It just doesn't get any better than this (:D).
